Taylor’s Story (day 1)

Taylor Isabelle Basch was born on Wednesday, October 29th at 4:17pm by emergency c-section. She was immediately handed to a team from Sparrow’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), who began resuscitation immediately.

Taylor’s heart did not start beating on its own until 4 minutes had passed. She was incubated immediately and received constant oxygen during her resuscitation. The NICU team of 8-10 doctors and nurses (estimated) worked to stabilize Taylor for over 15 minutes (Mom and Dad had no indication during this time whether Taylor was alive or not).

During this time, Mom was still undergoing surgery while Dad plead for the life of their daughter in prayer. “Lord Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on her. Give her life, give her breath.” After the longest and worst 15 minutes of their lives, the sea of doctors and nurses parted and briefly showed Taylor to Mom and Dad and indicated that she was stable enough to be transported two floors up to the RNICU. She was quite blue and had not yet cried…

MORE TO COME SOON WHEN DADDY HAS MORE TIME. PLEASE PRAY FOR TAYLOR…
