Taylor Update (day 2)

We praise the Lord for His work in Taylor’s life. She is still considered very critical, but the doctors and nurses have continued make progress in stabilizing her.

Taylor weighed 9lbs. 6oz. at birth and after continuous removal of fluids, she was weighing 6lbs 6oz.!! She looks so much better, but there is a need to keep fluid production under control. They are using two chest tubes (one on the left side and one on the right side) and one abdomen tube on the right side to continue draining fluid.

Taylor is still using a vent to breathe, but they have been slowing weaning her vent settings.

The doctors continue to be concerned with her blood pressure and she is currently on two medications to keep her blood pressure up and a good level.

Taylor started out in the world so compromised because of not having a heart rate for 4 minutes, that there was real concern about brain activity. The doctors have added a brainz monitor to the many other wires and tubes she is hooked up to. So far her everything looks normal. This was very encouraging!!
